well not long ago, although the thread is dead already. I did a bench thread of my spakin' new x850xt agp (stock) coupled w/ 3100+ (2.069Ghz) sempron. At the time when I installed the 5.9 catalysts drivers and did a timedemo demo1 bench on D00M 3, and scored an average 88 FPS +/- @ 1280x1024. Just recently, with the 5.12 / 5.13 and also 5.09 drivers back and forward...the score went down to 68 FPS..
I'm amazed though..I check the AA settings at the ingame menu and the CCC. But nothing worked at all. But the good thing that 3dmar05 scores went up and stayed that way with the new drivers that ATi had recently released. Which usually scores at about 6120+.
I'm really stumped at this one...Not really bitchin' about it, but I'm curious why it went down 😕
I excluded the problems, which were:
- heat....the baby runs cold
- Drivers....other games were not effected
- applications....stayed the same as usual
or...
Doom 3 is playing tricks on me 🙁
any comments or ideas will be great
