Hmmmm... One 8gb SDHC or two 4gb SD cards?

I get roughly 81 pics per gb, price diff is about the same...

8gb SDHC - $130
4gb SD - $60-80 each

SDHC still has compatability issues with most cameras and everything else. 4b for now...

Well i know my D80 is SDHC compliant.

well think of it this way:

with two, you are more likely to lose one of them as there are two to lose, but...

with one, if you lose it, you lose EVERYTHING, not just potentially half of everything

I'd go with the one :)

I'd personally choose the two smaller cards. 4GB is a lot of photos and 8GB is even more. I was out on a shoot doing a volleyball game and my 4GB croaked on me. Luckily, I had a backup 2GB with me at the time. I still was able to recover all of the images I took up until the point the 4GB started throwing errors at me, so it wasn't a complete loss. However, if you don't have any other cards, definitely get two.

I find it too risky to put all my eggs into one basket like that.
