Hi, I just got a new athlon 1.4(266) and had serious instability (non-heat related -- 42/48) freezes etc.
Of course I did a fresh install and these probs went away...until I finished installing all my drivers, etc...
Now, when ever I boot at 1.2,1.33,or 1.4 the system reboots halfway through windows startup. At 1.1133ghz(266) the system boots fine and is great, perfectly stable.
BTW I have all latest video, sound card, and chipset drivers.

Any suggestions?

I thought i had the latest bios (april or something)
but I checked abit and a new one kt764 was released this month!

I doubt that this will fix my prob since the last bios was for 1.4(266) support...but i'll try it anyways and tell you how it went.

 
Yep, slow1 has a point. For that processor, you need BIOS 4A/4T (depending on whether you have a v1.3 or higher board). Available here.

BTW, if you're new to this mother of a board, spend some time with the FAQ. You will become near and dear friends... 🙂
