hmmm...would this work?

My Polk PSW350 is blown. I have to send it back to Polk for a replacement driver. In the meantime, could I hook up the amp to a spare car sub I have lying around? I've got a 4-ohm a DVC sub. The 8-ohm signal into a 4-ohm speaker worries me though...is there any way to reduce the resistance?

Put an 8-ohm in parallel.

Parellel would halve the resistance of the speakers though, not the source...hmm...what if I ran the DVC sub in a series? Would that work?

it'll work, it just won't be as loud. For max power transfer you need the amp's output resistance to be the same as the speaker's input resistance.
