hmmm overclocking results and some questions

Specs:
2gb A-DATA DDR2 667 Vitesta RAM
Infinity 975X/G
EVGA 8800GTS
C2D E6600
ZalmnCNPS 9700
OS - Raptor 74gb 16mb
Storage - 500Gb WD

Question:

I built it for a friend.

Overclocked in small incriments.
ended up going up to 2.8... thats not bad i understand that its the memory that bottlenecking it im fully aware of it but my questions are. could changing the timings of the memory be feasibly? i kind of want to get this beasty to 3.0-3.2

latency for memory is 5.5.5.15 1.8v
all i did was touch up the CPU FSB to 310 and it clocked it to 2.8
anything after that it searches for MAC address im unaware what that means when it searches for mac after that... through the nic... so i guess that means that i technically isnt posting

first time ive overclocked so be nice
i definately did my homework on all the parts tho

also CPU-Z doesnt recognize the change. at first it did then clocked down.
what else should i read up on to help overclock this? if its too much trouble re-direct me to the right location

That doesn't sound like decent RAM at all... most stuff that'll give good performance eats at least 2.0V.

and elaborate on the problem you've mentioned about it not getting a MAC address. Does this happen when booting or what?

hmm yes on bootup it doesnt occur if i change the FSB to 310-320.

Maybe ill try and sell the RAM and buy some corsair XMS 800
we will see. but for now all tests are damn sexy.

prime95 all night no errors
memtest 30x passes
stress tests
etc everything checks out fine

only thing i would say is the memory is alittle bit skimpish and will update next time he comes
home for leave from the Navy.
