Last night i noticed that my ping times where crap and i kept getting kicked from the at vent server.
I checked our bandwidth logs and saw that we where uploading/download almost our full t1.
The First thing I thought of was that someone plugged a customers system into the wrong network and that it had a buttload of viri/spyware on it.
I checked the work benches to find nothing plugged into the network. When I was about to check on the in house systems i heard a fan kick on. I followed the sound and found that there was a laptop stuck behind one of the benches.
The laptop was running (Azerous? The one with the frog) and was downloading/uploading several different things.
So far i don't know who laptop this is. But i have ghosted the HD and formated the laptops HD, Im going to wait around till someone starts to ask around for it.
Im not going to turn them in to the boss but I think that ill give them a very hard time about it.
Cliffs
1. Noticed crappy ping times
2. checked around and found a laptop that was being used for BT
3.Ghosted and formatted the HD
4.KIcking it till the owner comes looking for it.
UPDATE
I will say that it was funny watching the security monitor. The Temp when to the bench that he hid tha laptop behind and moved it around. Then he moved the 6 other benches and still couldnt find it. So he spent the next 5 min looking in bins, on shelves.
Then he walked to my office and asked if i had seen his laptop. (BUhahahahaha)
He confessed that he did start the torrents, but that the daytime manager said that it was ok.
1. The temp did own the laptop.
2. After I confronted him he said that the daytime manager said that it was ok.
3. Now ive got to talk to the day manager and see what he says.
4. So the laptop stays locked up and the temp sweats some more.
