Hmmm... interesting idea on the global warming front from Australia

I'm surprised that both sides of the global warming debate aren't over this article like stink on sh!t... must be too early in the day...

But regardless I like your CS Lewis quote.

Thank you, kind sir 🙂

My personal favorite is the one from Chesterton: "?The only right way of telling a story is to begin at the beginning of the world. Therefore all books have begun in the wrong way for the sake of brevity? - G. K. Chesterton"

I wonder why more work/study is not being done on putting out the coal fires world wide.

It seems it would be a more efficient way of reducing CO2 and also preserve a resource for future generations.

Coal fires are 'global catastrophe'

"Hundreds of coal fires are burning out of control around the world, pumping huge quantities of carbon dioxide and pollutants into the atmosphere. It's in no-one's interest to have these fires burning

The problem was described as a "global catastrophe" on Thursday by researchers at the American Association for the Advancement of Science's (AAAS) annual meeting in Denver.

They said that putting out the fires in China alone would cut CO2 emissions equivalent to the volume produced by all US automobiles in a year.

I didn't realize that was even a problem. How much would it cost to put the fires out?

I don't think they even know how to put some of them out. The technology is still being developed.
