BTW, anyone else get annoyed by the fact that MS didn't give the analog stick buttons real names? On the PS/PS2 they are called L3 and R3. I hate trying to explain which buttons I'm talking about. It's much easier to say "push L3" than it is to say "push the left analog stick button".

all being said, does anyone care if their dash is in 480p?

I have to care because my wideband component input won't display 480i 🙁

Nope, because the XBox controller >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> PS2 controller

The joysticks are worlds better and I like having analog triggers instead of buttons.

Ahhh ok, using 480p, the dashboard looks sharper, i can notice the difference...

Last question, do i have to enable 480p and/or widescreen in Halo 2 itself, or will it just take the settings from the dashboard?

I have it enabled in the dashboard, but i dunno, Halo 2 dosent seem to look all that good. THere must be a setting wrong somewhere.

i've noticed that even when set to widescreen - the radar and target thingy are still stretched, however everything else seems to scale correctly. I seem to remember somebody else mentioning the same thing on these forums before.

yea i started a thread about this. that is just bad coding on part of bungie. i really hope they have a patch out to fix this.

depends on the game.

GTA-PS2.
Racing games-I like the Xbox, but if you're using a manual, like I do, the PS2 is much better. Thats why Brunout3 works well on Xbox.

I've never played GTA on the xbox, so I can't compare. I think my hands are too big for the ps2 controller. they fit the xbox controller perfectly.

I'm a racing game nut, though. I really struggled through GT3 because of the lame joysticks and lack of throttle/braking control. It was almost as bad as playing on a PC. I now have ToCA for xbox and it's a blast. Control is fantastic. The way console racers should be done. The only thing better would be a wheel and pedals.
