One space doesn't look correct at all and it doesn't "break" like it should.

Doesn't it look weird. To only use a single space?

With two spaces in use there is a nice flow. Looks much better. Don't you think?

So you can't stand the look of ATOT? I would have thought your detest for the flow would have pushed you away before you reached 20,000 posts.

[*]This has two spaces. Two spaces between sentences. All have two spaces. Yep. Two spaces.

[*]This has one space. One space between each sentence. All have one space. Yep. One space.

Fixed.

Pull the panties out of your asscrack. He only said it looked better with 2, not that he considers slitting his wrist when he sees single-spaces. I know it's difficult, but you don't always have to be a pompous prick. ;)

I left it looking the exact same for a reason. Using 3 is going for a different point than I was trying to make. But I'll edit.

I was never officially "taught" how to type. I use one space because it is what naturally came to me while typing on my own.

It's been said that AT reduces them to one space, even if you do two. Your post seems to illustrate that point. I always do 2, its how I learned and how I prefer. I am 24. I put two spaces after all of these sentences when I typed them.

Fail at what? I was showing that Anandtech turns two spaces into one when you read the thread. Did I fail at showing that?

And yes, my dick is very pompous. I will try to control it.

Looks like AT took out the extra spaces. Weird.

LOL - every time I edit, I lose the extra spaces, so I have to re-edit it. I'm done. The point was made. Some of us like the look of two-spaces, some like one. Not the end of the fvcking world, by any means.

My thumb is automatically trained to use two spaces between sentences, because I've been doing it as long as I've been typing. Since old habits are very hard to break, I'm going to keep using two spaces.

I really don't care what you do, but that is a dumb thing to say, imo. Why would you continue to use an old standard when you know it is incorrect? Out of spite?

Ok, first of all, one space. There is no need for two spaces with a proper proportional-width font, as has been mentioned.

Second. Wow, just wow. It's not AT specifically that eliminates the second space when you use them here. Well, maybe it does when it places the text into the database, but that's irrelevant. Browsers automatically eliminate extra non-breaking whitespace, so even if you were to go in and put two spaces in the html code itself, it'd still only show up as one.

I was taught two in typing class in HS. Recently, I was playing with a typing tutor and the standard in that was one space after a period. I failed on the tutor because of my double spaces when it was looking for one.

How about lack of caring? I know that the correct term is "Card Sharp," but I still prefer "Card Shark." Who cares if it's incorrect? Why should you always endeavor to break your old habits, just because they are not technically correct? Why harm does using an extra space casue? None. Therefore why expend the time and effort to retrain yourself for little to no gain in the long term?

I mean, sure - if something you do spontaneously causes random children to catch AIDS and mental retardation, go ahead to stop doing that. But if what you do simply bother a few forum members who have the MLA tattooed on their asscheeks, feel free to keep it up. Hell, I encourage you to keep it up. ;)

So, what you're saying is that you are less-educated and literate than the people that have heard of both. Not exactly something to brag about. ;)
