Hmm wouldn't a spell check feature be good for the forums?

#1) it'll add extra load to the already hammered servers
#2) how many 'terms' do we use here all the time that aren't 'correct'
#3) who cares if you misspell a word?

well just thought it could be a perk for u subscriber folks..since i really dont see much else that subscriber has too offer. 😛

I just dislike ads. Add to that the speed, plus I wanted to support AT & subscribing was a no-brainer for me.

While it sounds like it would be great for us, a spell checker would no doubt hammer the forum DB server. I doubt a forums server-side spell checker will ever be happening.

If you want to use a spell checker, it?s a simple matter to type up your posts in any word processor with a spell checker, then hit ctrl-A (select all), ctrl-x (cut), switch to the browser?s AT Forum reply field, and hit ctrl-V (paste).

If I'm not mistaken the AT Forums only run stock Fusetalk code so I wouldn't see that happening unless it's added to a later version of forum software.

It would be cool though, for now I just do the spellcheck in Word as was already mentioned.

Edit: BTW this is my first post as a subcriber and all I can say is w00t! 😀

Spelling is overrated. It'd be *nice* if everything was spelled right, properly formatted, and pass muster with Mrs. English Teacher but as long as the idea gets across... and the edit button's your friend, as I just demonstrated. 😛

If anyone wants a spell checker that will work with the forum you might try this ( http://www.spellcatcher.com/ ). I downloaded this program a few days ago and have been testing it, so far it works pretty well. It actually works interactively with many windows programs including outlook express. As it stands right now I am fairly satisfied with its over all functionality, but unfortunately it is a demo so I will have to decide whether I like it well enough to pay $40.00 dollars for it.

Do as I do and spell check your own posts 😛
I know how to spell almost every english word... if I don't I'll go figure it out at m-w.com
If you ever see me misspell a word, it's either because I 1. am too lazy to correct myself or 2. too lazy to double check what I wrote... but either way who cares? 😛
