Hello,

I've had a Pentax camera (Optio 330) for several months and have been very happy with it. All I have had to do to transfer the pics to my Windows XP PC are plug it in and run through the wizard that pops up. However, I think I accidentally clicked on the "advanced" option on the wizard. This bypasses the wizard and just pulls up the removable drive (e:\) that windows sets the camera up as. This is all correct since the Pentax web page shows the ability to access the pics in such a way. However, the path is supposed to be e:\DCIM\100Pentx but I can only get to "E:\" I double click on the DCIM folder windows explorer either stops responding or I get the following error, "E:\DCIM is not accessible. The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error."

So what I need is to either figure out how to access the pics through Windows explorer, or (preferably) switch it back so I can use the wizard again.

Thanks,

KBTibbs :)

edited for spelling and added I/O error message :)

can only suggest that while you've got the camera connected uninstall it from within device manager.
disconnect it then reconnect & xp should find it again & hopefully put things right!

I've tried that, the problem is it plug-and plays it the same way. Is there anyway for my to remove the plug and play memory so if I plug it in it's like it's the first time Windows has seen this device? I used to know how to do this (Win 98 always PnP'd my modem incorrectly) but I've forgotten how to do it now...

Thanks
