Hmm what's the utility to make a cd's contents run on a Harddisk?

I recall there was something like this.

I got a laptop that is of course power hungry and to save juice I'd like to run the app off the HD instead of the cdrom device.

Much appreciated.

dameon tools, also works well if you want to share a cd between a bunch of people at the same time.

sorry its a scsi filter driver which ports a cdrom device from a disc image from clonce cd, beats safe disc and a bunch of other copyprotection schemes too.

I just meant something that like "fakes out" the cdrom app when it checks what drive it is reading from, that it is reading "d:" when it is all copied onto "C:"

Like Ameesh said, Daemon Tools will do what you want. Just take whatever CD you want to run, rip it into a bin and cue, and then point DT to the cue file, and it'll mount a virtual drive that can be used like the CD.
