I setup a A64 3200@2550..10x255 with 1.58v
cooler is a XP90 with Vantec Stealth 92mm fan and AS5..used 3/4 BB size center dab

mobo: Neo2 Plat

My setup:
2 80mmx25 Panaflo L1A case fans
A64 3200@2550 10x255, 4x htt, 1.58v load(1.5v with 8.3% over vid)
neo 2 Plat
1 gb ram 2x512mg... ram 133 2.5-3-3-10 1t 2.7v
160gb Maxtor hdd on sata 3(with sata-pata converter works very nice)
BFG 6800 OC 365/870
Audgiy2
Adaptec 2906 scsi card for a scanner
winxp pro slipstreamed with SP2
dvdrom, dvdrw

voltages: cpu 1.58v, agp 1.6v,ddr 2.7v....unchanged

when I set this up at the first of the year(1/1/05)...I got idle temps of 38C load temp 51/52C running Prime95 blended torture test for 10hrs...during first 2week temps in FL got as warm as mid upper 70s..no temp changes

I reran Prime95 after a dvd burner fw issue and a funny prime 95 failure after playing HL2...I replugged in my atx cable from OCZ 520w powerstream...reran Prime95 for 15.5 hrs no failures again with blended torture test...

ok...after doing this on Sun/monday(pretty sure with core center temps idle was 39C/ load never got higher than 53C....I switched to Smartfan and everest home ed....

Using the computer tue/wed ..I notice my temps are higher...idle is now 41c...load is high as 58-59C....mind you it colder the last 2 days temps in 50s and lower

So over the weekend and last week...idle temp 38c, load temps max I saw 53/54C under load but generally 52C

Now with colder home temp ...my idle temps are now 41c and load 58/59C...seems bizarre..I changed out no hardware, check cables no flat cables ..only sata and rounded cables so there is good air movt, no change in case fans..same one...yet my temps are getting higher...

I am not aware of any problem with the HS...seems well attached

Has anyone seen temps go up with AS5..someone reported after 2 weeks temps should go down....mine were fine till tues....

BTW voltage on 5v=5.02, 3.3v=3.26/3.28 12v= 12.14v(core center), 12.4v speedfan, everest reports 2.24v LOL

What is going on..why would temps go up 3C idle and 5-6C load when it is colder ambient temps, no other changes....

last week when it was -30 at night. I opened up the window in my room to cool off my computer. Turned up my computer and it says 200c!!! leave in on for half an our and eventualy my temps go to what they should be (5c case 15c cpu :)) maybe your computer is so cool now that the temp sensors don't work!

Any did you move your case? COULD have broken the seal on the termal paste. Is the fan still ON? ;) Are all your fans on? Where are they and what direction are they moving?

whats your system temp BTW?

well I have moved my case..but it slides on wood on soft pads...so no jaring

my system temp was 34C ...37C load....

last night after I got these strange reading ...turned it on again and same thing this am at the coldest....turned off the computer and tried to twist the HSF but the XP90 moves like zero....

I doubt there is a contact issue with the AS5 and XP90...if so I owuld guess the temps would go sky high

all fans..2 case and HS fan are running..front case pulls air in, rear case fan moves air out....

fan on the HS is unchanged and blows air on the HS....

remember I changed nothing...same fan setup yet the temp all of sudden are higher.....with lower room temp....

BTW the XP90 is not even warm,..in fact the air blowing out of my case from the rear exhaust is cool/cold...the psu exhaust is barely warm..almost cool as well

PSU: OCZ 520 w Powerstream..has 2 fans one in front(not botom) of the psu...pulls air in and one exhaust fan....

the Neo2 is proven to be a pos when it comes to giving correct readings for....well anything.

voltages will be off, temps on cpu can be off as much as 7-10°C

Same goes for me but I use a Zalman hsf, I idle at 45°C and gets up to 58° in prime - in a room thats always around 60°F or lower. My finger gets chills if I poke at the base of my zalman :p

I agree it may not be accurate..but why the bizarre change?

How is this for weird...temp were high..so iopen my case fixed the incorrect placement of the pin connector for the LED HDD light..then I remove a rear bracket above my videcard...

reboot...cpu idle temp registers 33(at initial boot then goes to 37c...run prime95 small fft for 1 hr -1.5hr...load temp 51-53C...ok seems like everything is normal again

wake up this am...idle temp 40/42 C load temp 58-60C..

one of my concerns is that the delta are higher again..."normal temp" 37/38 load 52C=15C...now 41 to 60C=19C

i also have a XP90 with a 3200+ running at 2.4 Ghz on AS Ceramique. my idles here in hong kong are 31 and load doesnt go above 42. i also feel no heat on the xp90 so im sure it must be a crappy temp sensor you got dealt. unfortunate but as long as it works without getting much heat i really wouldent be concerned about it.

Well, I have this same issue. I will boot one time and it will be idle at 50*c, I will reboot, and it will go down to idle at 37*c. At one point, I checked my temps after it had been sitting idle, and they were reading 65*c. The temps are all over on this thing, and nothing seems to make a difference. If they are high, I just reboot and they seem to go down. I cannot for the life of me figure it out!

Mine concern is of course what is real..I figured after looking at the temps...it seems when they read high it is 9-10C difference on idle/load vs the lower temp readings ...I ran the blended torture test for 15.5hrs..so I know I am stable but now very uncertain on the temps..for better or worse...

I am going to hope that it is a bad sensor...

I am pretty sure now the temp readings are 9-10C off when reading high...I am getting idle 42c/46c....which is 10C morethan last night...idle jumped a bit...load was 59/60..about 10C higher than when I prime95 last night or 50/51C...

also both core center and Speed fan were reporting 0 for my cpu fan that was spinning..then they read 1700rpm....

I seem t ohave a faulty temp reading for my cpu...does this mean other things are faulty on the mobo...system temp seem ok...
