Hmm, turned in an assignment in the wrong language and got a 90%... I don't think they look at the code.

I turned in a programmnig assignemt in perl that was supposed to be a bash script. I figured I'd get half credit at best, but I was running late and already had it written in Perl, so I turned it in and got 18/20. I got marked off because of something the script did that didn't conform to the instructions, but not for writing it in the wrong language. I think he jsut runs the scripts ithout even looking at the source... huh.

That's weird. you would think he would at least glance at it. In my java programming class I had last semester, we didn't even turn in the programs, only print outs of the source code. He would just go through your code and make sure you didn't screw up.

thats sad, our ta's looked at the code with you. and then grade you down right when your sitting there. I know some lame schools the actually have you turn in the binary file thats about as ridicoulous as turning in a hard copy.

that is soo lame, at least he could have written a script to check for validity and made sure it compiled
