Hmm...subwoofer problem: the speaker part detached from the ring or the metal part....

Ive been driving my dads 1992 ls400 for a week and i guess nobody uses the radio much , or with much bass...well theres a subwoofer that came with the car its in teh rear near the break light (behind passengers heads) and it started to make a funny noise...i checked it out, looks like the speaker part, paper stuff, detached from the ring or the metal part u know the outer area....how can i fix this!?!? it hecka vibrates and makes a funny noise...

Get a new one. You can try to glue it, but....get a new one.

I looked around online and found they sell kits for what happen to myne, they sell foam/cloth/rubber rings to replace the ones that broke...i saw one on ebay for 8 buackaroos...ill look around...mabey ill just get the kit, i dont think id by a new speaker just for this thouhg..

A new one is your best/cheapest bet. I don't think they can even really be repaired anymore when the surround goes.

Edit: Didn't realize they sold kits to replace the surround. Still, unless you aren't concerned about sound quality, I'd replace it. I doubt the kit will give the same quality as the original

If its just the surround coming loose, you can glue it and shouldnt notice a difference. The surround doesnt play a major part in the SQ of the sub, not as much as say the motor structure. The surround simply helps control the cone during movement, and allows a seal between the front and back of the cone. Think of it as a suspension part. I've heard of people glueing them with good results, but you can try a repair kit or replace it too. Try
