Found this at Inquirer, which provides the link to the site that did the test. Apparently you should be careful which brand of thermal paste you buy if you want some silver in it... Thought it was an interesting snippet, that's all.:)

Yea, heard about this in another post. OCZ says their supplier screwed them, so they are now going to buy from Artic Silver, seems honest and reasonable to me. Anyone who actually expected silver in CompUSSRs "Silver" paste get what they deserve. I'm sure it has plenty of Silver coloring in it!

Yup, I like OCZ a lot now, I think they go to a lot of effort to put things right and give decent customer service nowadays. More than can be said for some companies I s'pose.

according to the anandtech frontpage there is now a recall of ocz thermal compound
dang

apparently recent batches contain less than 1% silver compared to other batches hat had 30% or so
looks like the people they payed to make the stuff decided they wanted to keep some silver...

lol that seems exactly right to me. I'm sure they figured they'd save a good deal of money and no-one would check. Hmm I wonder if in real-world terms it directly affected performance or not...

From the OCZ thermal compounds, it was quite competitive, but I guess this whole "no silver" thing has people up in arms. Glad OCZ is fixing the situation quickly rather than sweeping it under the rug.
