hi, i bought all my stuff from dabs -

asus a8v, athlon 64 3200+, corsiar value select 2.5cl, x800provivo, etcetc

well.. i followed everything correctly afaik, but when i power on, the fans spin and the Cdrom goes active, but nothing else.. no post.

so, i tried these:

different gfx card
different ram
different monitor
reseating cpu
reseating ram
receating graphics card
removing case fans
removing ide devices

all to no avail.. now, maybe the CPU is incompatible with my a8v?.. it could be 90nm i suppose..
i wrote down the markings on the chip:-

ADA3200DIK4BI
CBBFD 0432TPMW
1036416H40457

assembled in malasia

(c) 2001 AMD

can anyone identify whether its the 130 or 90nm version, or offer other suggestions??

thanks :/

CBBFD 04232TPMW

in the second set of numbers I believe that there are too many digits!!

possible supposed to be CBBFD 0432TPMW as in week 32 2004??

ADA3200DIK4BI

This line is the same as the chip pictured in the anandtech review of 0.90nm chips a couple of weeks back

.09 Athlon 64: Value, Speed and Overclocking

so I assume it may be!!!!!

Also is it socket 939....lowest clocked 939 previously was the 3500+.....not sure if 0.90nm 3200 is available on skt 754!!!!

it is socket 939.. i thought there was a newcastle 939 3200+ and a winchester 939 3200+??? awww this really sucks i spent over $1500 on this rig and i cant even use it.

any firm ideas whether it is 90nm, which is the reason it wont post???

thanks again
