Hmm, is the CS:S stress test broken? Weird pink textures & Scores remain the same regardless of in game AA levels...

Strange thing is i've never seen any pink textures no matter how long i game in HL2 or CS (or even Lost Coast)

EDIT: at least two other people have had these problems, Gstanfor & Synthdude (well, Gstanfor had the fps problem, i haven't asked him about the pink shizzle). Gstanfor & myself are using the latest Extreme-G driver version (83.90) & synth is using the whql 81.09s...

I also noticed these pink textures on my x1900xt in Dust but that was because of my over clocking. I moved the speeds down alittle and all was well. I was using ATI's new drivers and the only place the pink texture would appear was in the tunnels going to bomb a on the floor.

Did you run the test, then switch resolutions/settings and run it again...coming up with pink checkers?

Changing in game AA and sometimes resolution tends to mess up the material system's cubemaps for some reason if you do it after you've loaded a level....so any kind of texture that has a specular or bumpmap will have a pink hue to it. If it's a flat out pink/black checker pattern then that means it can't load that specific texture.

A restart will generally fix the cubemap problem

I noticed the exact same problem today, except for me it didn't matter if my card was overclocked or not, but they seemed to appear randomly.

sure you got application preference set in the drivers?

thats the only way changing the in game AA and AF settings will have an effect. if you set say 2xAA in the NV driver panel, then you gonna get 2xAA regardless of game setting

About the pink textures, they only appear for me if I try to change video settings after running one test. Restarting CS:S fixes things temporarily.

No problem here and I'm using the Xtream-g 83.90's. Avg. framerate with 4xAA/16xAF is 137fps.

i think we have ascertained that if you change the AA settings & run the Test again without restarting you will likely get the pink textures...
