what part did you finish it up to? the story isn't very elaborate so if you know the general idea of what went on then it should be ok. the ending is a joke anyway.

Was just playing original HL...I can't wait till they hook that thing up to the source engine.

Good call, I never quite realized the testicle thing.... Maybe its just me

Apparently, the models don't change too much and the architecture in the maps stay the same.
There will be physics.

However, the water though gets changes to pixel shaded water 2.0!! :laugh:

While we're on the subject of HL1 is there any way to get the high rez textures that were included in Blue Shift without having to buy it? I've already pre-ordered HL2 Collector's Edition which will have HL: Source but I'm feeling nostalgic and I'm thinking of playing it again before I get HL2 and would like those higher rez textures.

i don't think it's critical to play through, the story line doesn't seem to be entierly sequential, and you can just read up on it

*shrugs* i say you might want to, but it's not crucial.
