hmm, how's the audio in a Lexus RX300???

curious how their stock system is, any opinions here on that?

could it use some upgrading of any components, subs, better mids?

It sounds good for a stock car. The bass is pretty good and as are the highs. Of course, as with every stock stereo, if you turn it kinda loud, it starts distorting.

If you get the optional Mark Levinson audio system, no upgrade is necessary.

ah, the ML option... but they started that on the newer models no?
how about on a 2000 or a 2001 model, the older ones though?
