Hmm, does this seem right?

I upgraded my processor to an AMD AM2 4600+ and put in the 8800 GTX card. I'm getting about 8670 on 3DMark06 ..

With my two 7950 GT cards in SLI mode I was getting almost 8K.

Maybe I was expecting more of a boost with the 8800GTX but this seems low to me. The only thing I can think of is that my memory could be an issue (I'm using DDR2 667mhz instead of 800mhz memory).

Thoughts?

Hmm... if only 3DMark maintained some sort of giant searchable database of results for their benchmarks that you can sort by CPU and GPU, that might be a good place to look for this kind of thing. 😛

In fact, they now seem to have built in a Result Analyzer tool that does this for you if you're too lazy to search the database yourself.

Yeah, I just realized that after I posted the message. lol..

Based on the search results, it would seem that my results are in line.
