hm... My coffee is crunchy this morning

i made the coffee myself. how did coffee grounds get into my coffee?

there was no tear in the filter. and by no means did i overfill.

Your machine probably pumps out the water faster than the water can drain from the steeping basket. This causes the grounds to float over the edge of the filter, into the basket and out to the pot or carafe.

You also (depending on your grinder) might have ground the beans too fine. That is if you grind your beans at all.

Happens to me sometimes. Some reason the water does not go out the bottom and overflows through the top of the filter.
