Well back in 2001 I purchased some Sennheisen (didn't know who they were then) kind of accidentally because I needed headphones since my other ones went missing, reappeared in 2004 and have yet agian disappeared. I think I was in NH when I purchased them, I can't remember what store I got them from but I remember a rep recommending them to me so I purchased them and thought eh. Well one thing that kept me from forgetting them is the fact that I could remove the cord connecting to the phones which had a 2.5mm jack which went into the normal 3.5mm jack.
I also remember having to fix the headphone part because they broke off a year after purchase and after fixing it, I left them alone. Well fastforward 3 years later, I pickup the headphones while in the middle of cleaning, when I read the labeling, I litterally said, "holy ******, sennheiser".
So I immediately disconnected my sound system hooked the phones to my audigy card and played some mp3s. I was simply amazed to listen with the phones, so I then thought eh, why not try a flac so I played a flac and I swear I litterally cried, I just couldn't believe things sounded so beautiful. Now I'm thinking, how much better would the sennheiser audiophile HD650 headphones sound compared to my HD500 ones...

Cliff notes:
1. Purchased headphones back in 2001 not knowing a thing about audio equipment.
2. Fixes headphones because the top bracket disconnected from speaker part (thing that goes around ear), fixes headphones and doesn't use them agian for a long time.
3. 3 years pass since real use of headphones, while in the middle of cleaning, I notice the headphones say "sennheiser" and I exclaim "holy ******".
4. I immediately disconnect sound system and hook up headphones to audigy card.
5. I play some mp3s and I'm amazed, I then play some flacs and I litterally cry because of how beautfiul the music was, the clarity, and all it's glory.
