This is weird. I just noticed recently that the HLT command is no longer working on my mobo. I'm using a A7V133. HLT command will make the CPU cooler when it's idle right?? I checked my CPU utilization when it's idle and the temperature is up till the same as if it was full load. Why did this happen?? I reformated my pc thinking that a software tweak might have offed the HLT feature in Win98se but it has always remain the same ever since that day. I checked my bios and nobody changed anything. It's just not running the HLT command. The temps are always t full load. :( It's breaking 60 celcius now. :(

Anybody has any solution to it??

I've read somewhere, that newer AMD processors (Athlon, and Duron) 'halt' differently.
programs made to cool K6 and Pentium processors won't work, need one made for the new AMDs.

win9x doesn't really HLT the processor... anyway, look for a program called Rain or Waterfall and see if they work. Vcool, however, cools in an altogether different way (drops the processor to a low power state or something), and if it works for you, it rocks.
