Basically what is happening is that OS's that can issue HLT commands (NT, 2K, ME, XP, etc.) are having those commands ignored, which causes your CPU to run much hotter than it should.

It's taken MSI this long to catch up? Abit and Asus (as well as a few others) have done this several months ago. This was done to improve stability with the faster running T-Birds. Because these processors are so voltage sensitive, the voltage spikes caused by these HLT commands were causing lockups, freezes, and a plethora of problems. Doesn't occur with all systems, but it happens enough times that it's a good idea to disable it. This shouldn't be a big deal at all so long as you have a half decent HSF.
