HLstats question (Win2k, apache, php4, mysql)

I am completely new to this, and hopefully you can tell from question (easy to answer in otherwards). I have installed/configured everything but have one error. I am trying to run hlstats for the first time as admin so I go to http://your-server/path/hlstats.php?mode=admin. This page loads just fine and I can enter the password and it takes me to the next page (address has not yet changed). Every link on this page is messed up however. Every link should be http://servername/hlstats.php?mode=admin&task=blahblahblah. Instead I get http://servername/php4/php.exe?mode=admin&taskblahblahblah. I can substitute hlstats.php for php4/php.exe and the page will load up correctly. Please tell me what I've done wrong and how to fix it.
