Of course Valve expected a good % of HL2 buyers to buy just for the eye candy.

It's OVER Valve, OVER!!!

FarCry blows this game out of the water visually. I don't give a sh!t about this game anymore and I don't understand those that get their panties all wet about it.

Hey man, whatever the game lacks they can just update with their flawless steam engine!!! I mean it only takes 4+ hours to update counterstrike through steam, HL2 should only take 5x that much w/ a simple update. 😀

But I guess the question is...did Farcry steal some of HL2's thunder? Honestly, I think it did.

Ugh, Farcry sucks. Bad AI, boring weapons, boring enemies, cheesy battles, crap control, and high system reqs for not that great of graphics. All from a studio with stolen software.

to each their own, but we must not have played the same game 🙂

How well will HL2 run on an Ath. XP 2000+, 1GB Ram, GFX5600?

Because the original was so awesome, I want to get HL2, but I'm not upgrading my system to do it.

I was very impressed with HL2 graphics last year, after Far Cry, HL2 isn't that hot anymore, same with Doom III. I'm sure HL2 will come in the summer, whether it's summer of 2005 or 2006...that's still a toss up.

wow. Upset much?

The way things are going, I highly doubt that HL2 will live to the hype it's created, it's gonna suffer the same fate Star Wars: Episode 1 faced. It's generating an astronomical amount of hype and interest, but in the end it will be lacking.

Also until I see it, I take everything about HL2 with a grain of salt, and I'm not particularly that excited about it.

But the gameplay, man......the gameplay.

Screens tell you NOTHING about gameplay, let alone most of the screens look like they're part of cinematics no less.'

Yes, HL2 and Doom3 will never be good because they lack pretty water and palm trees. It is the downfall of all new video games. Valve really screwed the pooch on that one, I mean what were they thinking. Their only hope is that you can push chairs into water better than you can in Far Cry.

doubtful. the vids of hl2 i've seen are better. screenshots aren't that great for judging anymore, one must see things like lighting and animation in action.
