hl2=motion sickness

No, it was fairly common. Especially on the airboat levels.

You'll get used to it. I did.

And welcome to November, BTW.

did that. changed it to like 100. didnt do anything. it got so bad that i stopped playing the game altogether 🙁

I find it helps to sit back a little further from the monitor. Let some of real life into your field of view.

don't worry, I get violently ill playing HL2 also. I have changed the FOV also. I just don't understand it. I can play CS:S for HOURS. But HL2.... 20 mins and I want to throw up. (I think I'm only 20% through the game and I've just stopped playing).

Try playing with an FOV of 90; that should eliminate any of the subtle distortions that might be nauseating.

ahh i love my CRT...if that has anything to do with it?

i never got motion sickness...of course i play flight sims all the time...so maybe im used to it

I did one of those racing car simulators once in Vegas and I felt nauseous as hell after 10 minutes in that thing.

Computer games do it to me sometimes as well. Doom3 did, I haven't played HL2 yet though.

i have a CRT and i had this issue after the water level for an hour. this happened to me once from playing jedi knight but that may have been the flu or something. i'm not really sure....

I got it pretty bad, too. I evern remember reading that Valve was aware of it pre-release but couldn't explain why some people experienced it and why some didn't. What's strange is that I don't think anyone has reported experiencing it in CSS.

yeah...I had the same problem. i couldnt keep playing it. im only about 20% thru the game now.

no other game does it. CSS does not do th same thing.

it got much better when i switched from 20inch LCD to 18inch LCd.

I got to the point where I felt like I was going to throw up if I played it for to long, so I'd have to take a break and would usually get a very bad headache also, which I almost never get headaches.

But I still got through it and finished the game in about a week after getting it.

<---never gotten sick playing games or watching TV before.

i used to get sick when i was a lot younger when Doom came out (i was about 10 years old). but since then ive gotten used to it. too many games 🙂

nah i use a 19" crt. i must say, hl2 is great fun (even with motion sickness). it's so nice to be able to play on reasonable settings since i upgraded recently. before i had to play at 800x600 on low settings.

ive heard of this from a lot of ppl on the steampowered forums when it first came out. Wierd, it never did it to me.

I've never had this issue with the game. Granted, the most I play any game at one given time is about an hour to an hour and a half max.
