HL2 HDR

Will this only be able to run on the highest end systems(6800 Ultra or Sli)? Would a 3000+,1gb,6600GT OC be able to handle it you all think?

What's HDR?

I played through HL2 with a 3500+, 1GB PC3200 and 6800GT. Nothing OC'd and running at 1280x1024 high detail settings. Never saw it drop lower than 30fps, most of the time it was way above.

I believe it stands for High Dynamic Range. It allows for very realistic light blooming effects. Very impressive stuff, but current graphics hardware really struggles with HDR right now. Not enough power.

As for the OP question, I doubt you would be able to run it at any decent framrate with a 6600GT. Atleast in FarCry, my 6800GT and 2.45Ghz A64 3200+ was brought to it's knees with HDR enabled.
