Too bad he couldn't get any rendered backgrounds
Models look awesome though, but I still like UE3 models more..

Hopefully it's not as exaggerated as Farcry's was and not as big of a performance hit.

What type of FPS impact would HDR have on HL2? 5%-10%? more?

I haven't done any HDR rendering yet so I don't know what kind of processing numbers we're talking about.

HDR takes a pretty big hit from what I read.

Maybe 30%, I have no clue, just guessing.

It's still considered playable on 6800 cards.

I would say HDR + AA would pretty much kill the current cards.

If I remember correctly, my experiences with HDR with my 6800GT/3200+ A64 was not pretty. With Far Cry, I'm pretty sure AA had to be turned off in order to use HDR. And even then, at 1024x768, I was running upper teens, lower 20's. It really crippled my setup, but with it being the only example out there right now, I'm not sure if it can be looked upon as the definitive one.

Wow man, 20 fps, I guess I take that back, HDR takes more like 70% hit and will probably run with 5 fps if aa could be turned on.

Not to mention 1024 res.

I would think a ~2.5 ghz a64 and 6800U can manage 40-45 fps.

With no aa of course.

I my self only consider 60+ fps 100% smooth.

Funny, theres people here talking about sm3 when the current cards probably wont even be able to handle these new games!
