Wha? A Ti4200 would smoke a 9200, especially in OpenGL.Originally posted by: XietyCOM
Probably an ATI Radeon 9200 can easily run it but don't expect anything special with that card. You'll have to play in low details.

HL2 is dx9
The HL2 leak ran at 65 fps constant (max about 200 staring at a wall, min about 30) at 1280x1024 on my 9800 Pro. I can't remember but I think it dropped to 50-55 with 2x AA and 4x aniso on. That's approximate of course.
Not true. Valve dumped support for the DX6 gen after the leak.Originally posted by: warcrow
HL2 is a DX9 game, yes, but Valve made sure to make the game highly scalable. Did you know that HL2 will run on a TNT2? Its going to look like crap, but the support is there. So, don't worry too much about it. I think you're ti4200 (64MB or 129MB version?) will be ok. But, 9700/9800 are pretty cheap now-a-days. $125-200 for either. Should run great on those cards. But, of course....you can always do what I did and get a X800 XT and really enjoy the new titles coming out![]()
