hl2.exe has stopped working

I'm not sure where this thread goes but I'm really freaking pissed at Garry's Mod right now lol

I tried booting it up on my "lesser" laptop and after a while of DLing and setting everything up, I happily run the game. "hl2.exe has stopped working" *punish every non-living thing in my room*

Any fixes yet? I browsed Google for any answers and tried Running Steam as admin, running Garry's Mod as admin (hl2.exe), deleting hl2.exe and verifying, restarting, net administrator /add BS that I found but didn't work 😛

Thanks for the help and mods please kindly move this thread to correct place if it's needed!
 
Is the rest of the system running well? Are drivers updated (especially GFX)? Can you launch other games? Does HL2 run without the mod?
