HL2: Episode 2 delayed again

Never a big fan of the episodic thing. Look at SiN episodes... the first one wasn't very good, so the audience is bound to be smaller on the second one. You can only stretch the original material/premise so far before everyone gets bored with it, paying $20 to see the same crap over and over. Same is true of HL2.

I think they'll give this up as a lost cause because of dwindling interest and excessive production times. So I agree that episodic gaming will die, not with a bang but a whimper.

******. 🙁

I was looking forward to Team Fortress 2 also. That Portals game looked really cool too... argh this makes me mad.

A shame really, I was looking forward to this. Oh well, hopefully this just means it will have no/minimal bugs once it actually comes out.

EP1 was good though...

I'm betting they release a retail TF2 as a separate release before summer 2007 so they can later sell you HL2:EP2 and Portal also as a separate purchase.

Team Fortress 2 is what really matters. I am not exactly a multiplayer junkie (except for the occasional mindless FEAR Combat deathmatch) but this game looks like something I would actually want to try and get good at.

I loved HL2 (except for the vague story) but couldn't be bothered to try Episode One. I just...I just lost interest in the franchise and its story & characters.

Those bastards shouldnt have even released those movies for Portal and TF2....I mean seriously, WTF is that?

Release gameplay videos, and say they'll be available later this year. YAY!
Then a month or two later say sometime in Q107. Okay....
Now they say next year. Well FVCK YOU too then.

isn't the Source Engine due for a makeover with the release of Ep2?

i guess it's harder than it looks to get that flashlight working right. 😛

😀

In Q4 2007 we should be getting Half life 3. Like come on ;( what the hell are they doing. releasing a one episode per year is just stupid.

What the heck is the point of episodes that take over a year to make? Aren't these things suppose to be small so they are quick to release? Thats pretty aggravating to wait a year for 3 hours of game play... sure TF2 and Portals look good but lets just skip episodes and go back to full games.
