Just logged into Steam and got the notice that DoD is in the finale stages of development. They're finishing up some map lighting and character animations.

It also mentioned that the Lost Coast level is about ready to be released "soon." They say it will include HDR and a surprise that nobody knows about yet. Sounds good!

BTW... if you haven't seen the latest demo of HDR from about a month ago, here's the video... link

I saw it too. It makes me happy with the way Valve is supporting their customers.

Yeah... even if they charge $5-10 for it that would be cool with me. But DoD and Lost Coast will be free for those who paid $60 for HL2, right?

when steam isn't a POS, i will go back to playing HL. steam slowed down all my games.. used to play the Specialists and Natural Selection at 1600x1200 w/ 4x FSAA and 16x ansiotropic, now they're unplayable at any setting

Do you let it start up with Windows? Turn the damn thing off, geeze!

HDR looked meh, but I always want more Half-Life 2. Lost Coast has been coming "soon" for like 4 months now. When it gets here, then I'll care.

Yeah, anyone who bought the silver addition of HL2 ($60), will get it free.+

Umm....wtf? I play TS and CS:S all the time on Steam, and love it. I love the insanely fast DL speeds from it, and it has never given me any problems. Try reinstalling HL1.

They need to stop talking about how close they are to finishing it, making videos, trailers, ingame footage, screenshots or whatever and just finish the freaking game that is long overdue and provide HL2 with some good multiplayer that i paid for with the steam silver package.
