HL2 CTF

So I downloaded HL2CTF, because I think HL2 is great and I love CTF. If you want it, just open steam and click browse games, they are ranked by popularity but it's not too far down.

The first map I tried was very small and not that great. With the weapons it kind of felt like UT, which isn't what I wanted. I thought I'd try another map. But the next map I tried was completely bugged and crashed HL2 twice. More or less I think it needs work. It says it's in beta, but there are 3 public servers right now. Anyone else try it?

I downloaded it but I've yet to try it. Too lazy but I think it should be a good substitute till TF2 comes out :heart:

I heard TF2 isn't going to be a CTF at all.

I remember they had some screenshots of TF2 while it was still in development and it looked like CS with classes. I really wouldn't mind as long as they kept the same fast and fun pace of a TFC game.

Yeah. If it doesn't have an economy, I'd probably hit it quick. I hate the economy in CS.

I played it without the grav gun, greatly improved fps as there wasn't all this crap on the ground being thrown around. Pretty fun, but there wasn't really anything particularly novel about it besides graphics/physics.

Wow I'm going to HAVE to get back to my HL2 playing since I haven't even logged on Steam recently enough to get the recent HL2DM update. Hope there's a lot of new stuff since I played last!


edit: Hopefully CTF will bring back memories like Quake Threewave CTF, and UT CTF was pretty fun too.

CTF, eh? Man I haven't opened up Steam/HL2 in forever, I hadn't even heard of this. I still need to get around to playing HL2 single player; I'm just kind of disheartened that I can't maintain the framerates I'd like.

Go to browse games and go down to HL2CTF and click on the link to the website.

CTF is a third party mod, like how CS started. There's quite a few good ones out now for HL2 that are definately worth checking out. Like the one where you fight with those walkers... very entertaining.
