HL2 Countdown: 19 Days!

preordered from outpost for 35.99

it will take a backseat to WoW and metroid prime 2 though

i am gonna enjoy CS: source though

Not as stupid as yet another unimaginative first person shooter that is using a 3 year old engine that already looks like last years shooters...
FPS is sooo freaking old.... wish devs would quit trying to ride this to easy street and come up with a new type of game...

Sims 2 is a great game for what it is.. a time killer...
so is Rollercoaster Tycoon3

FPS genre is old and tired.

There are obviously many people who disagree with you; if no one were buying the games, there would be no motivation to produce them. I don't think the genre is "old and tired" myself either, really.

Tell that to the thousands of people that still play regular CS daily, on a ~6 year old engine making it the most popular online game.

when you been gaming since the PONG days like myself and seen the genre introduced by ID software in 1994 and here we are 10 years later and while the technology has jumped by leaps and bounds the games have stayed the same....
same thing different game..

whats so ground breaking about giving yet anothe kind of gun and a different monster to shoot?

and recycling CS yet again... please that game is dead tired too..

the problem is they are writing for you youngins that havent been there done that yet...

Rockstar was the last company to really reinvent a game with its GTA series combining multiple genres in 1 game..
very smart..

these same old.. you are a soldier left to die in a remote facility beacsue (Insert lame psudo story here) has gone terribly wrong you must stop evil and escape!!

wow.. that was fun.. I just summed up the plots to the last 30 shooters ever written in 1 sentance..

Are you guesiing or is there data kept somewhere on this ? I'm mostly curious where battle.net games like Diablo 2, Warcraft, and Starcraft stand in terms of online numbers. I know there are thousands still playing Diablo 2 every day.
