As someone on Beyond3D noted, the default setting of "r_fastzreject" on nVidia hardware is "1", while on ATI hardware it appears to be "0".
However, you can force your ATI card to enable this setting by adding "+r_fastzreject 1" to your shortcut for the game.
Has anyone using R3xx+ noted a significant performance improvement with it on?
It's weird, I got a 5% higher score in the CSS VST, but about 1-2 fps less in the 3 HL2 timedemos I tried (1 from AT, 2 from Hardocp). I'm thinking it has something to do with AA -- using 2x AA for HL2, no AA on CSS.
