HL Counter Strike.. Crashes too much. PLEASE HELP

I posted this over in Tech. Support, but didn't get much responce, can anyone here help?

I play Half life Counter strike, but my box seems to crash a quite often when playing. I have tried everything that I can think of. My hardware setup is: Iwill kk266 (abit kt7a before) ibm 75gxp 30gb, 384mb ram (generic, toshiba and viking chips), Geforce2mx, Win2k. 1ghz athlon. I have an fop-38 fan on the sucker.. Via 4in1 v 4.30, nvidia reference 6.50 drivers.. and yet it still crashes occasionally.. I have tried different ram, motherboards.. I think it has something to do with software, but I don't know where. win2k sp2, btw.

There was a Win2k "hotfix" for AMD processors and VIA chipsets, but its been fixed in SP2, so apply SP2. This should help a lot, especially if your sound card sounds "looping" when you are crashing.
