HL-2 Woes.

So I open up steam and everything works fine. Double-click HL-2 and get a black screen, dude with knob comes up, then I get to a blurry screen with "loading" in background and nothing happens...I wait..nothing happens...can't Con+Alt+Del, can't minimize all, can't alt+tab out. Foreware 71.4 drivers. Comp in sig. Any ideas?
 
How long do you wait at the blurry Loading screen? My PC is a little slower than yours, and I think it took around 3 minutes sometimes.
 
Yeah, the menu screen has a whole level loaded in the background, so it takes a long time. It's kind of cool, and kind of annoying at the same time.
 
The first time I played the game it was downloading something when it hanged on the blury screen. It took well over 10 minutes for it to finish. Just be patient.

Same here... if it's your first time it will take a while
