There. Please don't counter and say that NY Times is Anti-Semetic.
Heh, the NYT must have corrected their Anti-Zionist comments., I don't see any mention of what you quoted on their site or anywhere on the net. I don't see anything like what Skyclad1uhm1 claimed was in his BBC link either.

This is a new one...can't disprove it so you claim it doesn't exist.

What he quoted is on the second page of the article, third and fourth paragraphs from the end of the story.

NEXT!
Heh, I wasn't trying to dispute it, I just didn't see it as I seached the article for "Including" and "casualties" and that portion of what he quoted doesn't show on the page anymore.

Man you peace loving people just dont get it. This is a religious war with tensions dating back to the stone age. They will ALWAYS be at war in one way or another. It's not that I love war, but Im a realist. Negotiations and having tea together talking about how to accept each other's differences arent gonna work .

Exactly. We should just glass over Israel and Palestine with a nuke after evacuating all the citizens. Tell them their little strip of land is no longer inhabitable and tell them to move somewhere else.

Problem solved.

Hey, I was just quoting NYTimes. I am not sure where else to get "credible" news without going to hizbollah.com or jew4eva.com, etc. :)

Yeah, people there have been hating each other for a long long time. Even withing Islam, there are deep divisions. And to think of all this, Jews, Christians, and Muslims all believe in the Old Testament.

And I know you guys don't like eating crow, but this is the latest AP report:

That brought the Israeli death toll to 94, including 46 soldiers, the 12 reservists and 36 civilians.

Israel's attacks on Lebanon have killed at least 607 people, including 524 civilians, 29 Lebanese soldiers and at least 53 Hezbollah guerrillas.

Hezbollah has killed 58 soldiers and 36 civilians.

Israel has killed 53 Hezbollah guerrillas (the people they are supposedly targeting), 29 Lebanese soldiers (after stating they are not at war with Lebanon), and a whopping 524 civilians.

I find this incredibly tragic for Israel. Hezbollah's ranks have barely been affected and they still have a massive weapons cache (and the ability and support to re-arm). Killing that many civilians not only increases sympathy for Hezbollah worldwide, but has probably increased their ranks as well. What a complete and utter failure this campaign has been so far. All Israel can do is continue bombing; their much larger ground forces are having a hard time defeating a few hundred guerrillas.

The people here who are blind to that reality are the same people who saw flowers, candy, and a quick-n-easy occupation of Iraq.

LOL do you really think Israel only killed 53 Hezbullah guerillas?
I'd say the number is more around 350, or 400. Maybe more. In bint Jabel (or whatever) they killed 50 alone.

Yeah you have to wonder, if a bunch of rag tag fighters from Hezbollah can kill the Israeli's nearly 1:1, why hasnt the organized armies of the Arab world wipe Israeli off the map yet?

I am sure the Israeli's like our troops when they engage these thugs wipe them off the map at a 25-30:1 ratio.

I'd take that with a huge grain of salt. The story doesnt mention how or where they derived those numbers from.

If Hezbollah is engaging the Isreali military head on you can ASSume with relative confidence they arent inflicting equal casualties.

No not at all. Unlike most people I dont think it's the USA'a responsibility to keep peace all over the globe. Let them fight it out like they have done for thousands of years. Whats the problem with that?

The answer to that is simple: Hezbollah isn't a standing army, they are guerrilla fighters akin to Iraqi insurgents. When we fought Saddam's army, 20-30:1 was exactly what we were getting because it was a military conflict. But when you have urban combat with what are essentially well armed militia men, it is difficult to pinpoint and destroy them from the air and even more difficult to fight them in their own urban territory.

I never provided any figures, but common sense dictates guerillas who arent trained and have inferior equipment wont inflict equal casualties on an organized, trained, highly efficient army who has done this over and over.

I wouldnt take the word of an AP write over common sense, sorry, the title doesnt gain respect or knowledge.

One thing to think about, if Israeli is dropping all these bombs in close air or close arty support. What exactly are they shooting at that makes their troops think they need this support to soften up their enemy?

I am sure there are plenty of dead hizbollah fighters in those hills nobody knows about. Israel, like the United States wont expend ordinances on ghosts if it doesnt have to. They run into strong resistence and they will call in the heavy stuff and knock it out.

Common sense requires you to look at the combatant/civilian death ratio and not that by all reports Israel is far on the killing civilians side of that one while Hezbollah is not.

If you think the Israeli's have managed to kill 2 Hizbollah fighters a day, that isnt my problem.

One would have to ask how the hell Israel as a state has remained so long if all they can do against a terrorist organization is kill 2 of them a day.

And who the hell are they fighting up in those hills anyways?

Sometimes not relying on a blind estimate of casualties from people who cant explain how they arrived at those figures will do wonders for you.

I am sure you wont buy into this but 300-400 Hizbollah killed

Which falls more into line with statistics you will see in Iraq or around the globe when fighting these people. And makes much more sense given the amount of fighting that has been going on the past 3 weeks.

AP Breaking News

"Israel intensified its strikes on Beirut and southern Lebanon on Monday, killing at least 33 people in one of the heaviest tolls in days. Lebanon's prime minister won strong support from Arab states to plead his case at the United Nations for a full Israeli withdrawal."

I doubt Israel will stop its attack on Lebanon. At this rate, we might see other Arab countries joining the war. gg Israel.

I still love how you guys keep quoting different death figures, but ignore the fact Israel protects its citizens in bomb shelters...

Here let me bold this one for you

Israel protects its citizens in bomb shelters

How about we underline? Just to get the point across

ISRAEL PROTECTS ITS CITIZENS IN BOMB SHELTERS

What does Hez/Lebbanon do?

Use its civilians for human shields.

You guys getting it yet? Is it starting to sink in why the difference is so high?

What is one thing you can be sure of? Hez purposely throws missiles into areas where there is nothing but civilians, and has even stated it wants to kill civilians, Israel doesn't target civilians, yet you guys defend Hez? That is pathetic.
