I got hitman contracts and most of the missions are recycled, though cooler, versions of missions from the original PC game...

any thoughts on this? I'm enjoying the game but it seems a bit of a rip-off

I played Codename 47 and Hitman 2... hitman 2 definitely had better controls. I enjoyed both though. I figure I'll wait for it to approach the bargain bins before playing Contracts.

There are only so many ways to be a hitman... are the missions so similar that they feel the same as you play them?

I played the original and I still loved #3! They were not ripoffs they were 'flashbacks'. Basically the entire game is flashbacks of missions leading up to the mission you are currently on. Some of these flashbacks are things you hadn't had a chance to participate in and some of them are ones you did already participate in.

The redone missions were redone very well. There was no silent assassin mode in Hitman 1 so killing a ton of people was never really a problem. But this time around, I had to do those older missions in silent assassin mode, which added a whole nother aspect to them.

Howa re the controls on the PC? I bought Hitman 2 for Xbox and quit playing it less then two hours later, controls were unbearable.

Standard? Here was my keys...
MOVEMENT = WASD
Duck = Space
Sneak = Ctrl
Run = Shift
Fire = Mouse1
Learning = Z/C
Zooming = Mouse scroll
Use = E

All the keys are remappable though... so it doesn't really matter. You can also change from 3rd person to 1st person by using F1. And you can modify the mouse sensitivity. The reason you quit on Xbox is because FPS games are universally easier to play on PC.

Actually it's the 3rd person mode I had the most trouble with, having to constantly adjusty camera angles just bothered the heck out of me. And yes, FPS mode feels "unnatural" with a controller when you're used to play it on PC.

3rd Person camera mode is controlled via the mouse on PC. Very easy to control. Much the same as mouselook in 1st Person.
