Hitman 1: worst PC game ever made?

I bought Hitman Codename 47 yesterday and I've been playing this for probably about 4 hours, and I still can't even beat the first level. The mission says I'm supposed to kill a triad negotiator in red clothing. Fair enough, they gave me a sniper rifle and 1 bullet, so this should be possible, right? Wrong. I shoot the guy in guy in the head, and he runs away. Mission failed. Maybe I missed, let's try that again. Nope, another headshot, a bit of blood shoots out, he runs away.

I've tried this from probably about 30 different locations, varying angles, etc. There is honestly no way to kill this guy. This bullshit reminds me of those old nintendo games where the game would glitch out and crash at certain areas. To add insult, the game has no save points and it takes several minutes to reload the mission. Why does this game from 2000 take so long to load when a new game like HL2:Ep2 loads in a few seconds when I hit the quickload button?

Even for only $5, I was scammed.

Your game must be broken, because it's very easy to snipe him (and you can use other weapons anyways) and the loading points take about two seconds. It's definitely the worst Hitman game and prone with bugs and annoying levels, but not at the point you're at.

I never finished it, wasn't crazy about it, but it was amusing for a while. On the other hand, at least one of my friends felt that it was an excellent game.

Lol, I remember reading about that one Vrolok. Thanks for the laugh. I'm reminded of "Desert Bus" also.

Maybe you are just bad at games that require thought?

All you had to do is climb a fire escape and snipe the dude. You then run away and the mission ends.

Maybe you're bad at talking to people? All you had to do was use basic manners.

well, I personally loved that game. It's a bit buggy, but during that time when Q3 and UT was the de-facto game to play, Hitman was a very nice and appreciated change

Hitman 1 is an excellent game. But if you can't handle a challenge, go get your $5 back, it's lost on you.

I never got into Hitman 1, not sure why exactly.

Hitman 2 on the other hand is one of my favourite games ever and I've played through it around 10 times or so.

No, not really. It's not my job to kiss his ass and tell him he is special.

Didn't care for the game myself, though its certainly not the worst game ever, nowhere near. Trouble with it is that its really a puzzle game pretending to be an action game. Don't remember the first mission being a problem though, don't know why it isn't working for you, but as I remember it some later ones can only be successfully completed if you have information you can only get by trying and failing a few times and can't possibly know at the start - which is bad design I think.

They can be done on the fly, but you have to be VERY good at thinking on your toes and observing situations. Some of the best solutions, however, are done through already knowing the place, and knowing you need to rush to a specific room 3 minutes into the mission. That doesn't mean they cannot be completed other ways, it simply gives room for you to continually repeat a mission until you become the perfect assassin.
