A friend of mine has a Hitachi UltraVision TV model number 36UX58B. It has a problem with overheating. It will be on for ~20 minutes then shut it self off. They said if they took it in to have it repaired, it would cost about $300 (supposedly a new one is around $500). They offered to give it to me.

Any one know how to fix the TV or know where I can find information about this TV?

Could I just rig up a couple fans inside it to keep it cool?

I don't know anyway to cool it besides some kind of rigged fan system.

<blatant sarcasm>

Cut some 120mm holes all over the back of the TV, and add 120mm fans, connect them to an old AT PSU, and power them up when watching TV.
