hitachi "seed" drives

apologies if this is the wrong forum, GH doesn't seem to work for me.

so I was looking at buy.com earlier, trying to see if there was a good deal to use my 7% coupon on. I found several hitachi HDs that had SEED in the part number, I.E.

0A35155-SEED

they're cheaper than the regular drives of the same type, but I can't find any info on them. Refurbs I assume?
