Hitachi monitors any good?

CM771 is a very good monitor, try to see one before buying as monitor selections are very subjective in nature.

I bought a CM771 in November of 2000 and have been pretty happy with it. The monitor itself is beautiful, a nice flat screen and great picture quality. The only downside is that after about a month it began to give off this horrible high frequency sound. If i changed resolutions it only changed the pitch of the sound. weird. I called Hitachi and they promptly send me a RMA, so i shipped it to their repair place in Mass and they fixed it and sent it back in exactly one week.
That was all in January since then i havent heard anymore sounds and everything is peachy again.

I assume this was an isolated incident, so i would still highly recommend the monitor.

I would go with a trinitron these days but a Hitachi is an alternative if you don't like those 2 damper wires that come off trinitrons.

1 of the best monitors for not being a trinitron.
