Hitachi HDD 60GB says RAW format after installing WD 160gb

Hey guys,
I recently bought a WD 160GB and installed it on my comp along with an NEC 3500AG. Now i set this whole thing up this way:

Primary IDE channel:
Master : WD 160 GB
Slave: Hitachi 60 GB

Secondary IDE channel:
Master: NEC 3500AG
Slave: Lite-on burner

I installed XP with SP2 on my WD and then restarted my computer. All the devices show up fine in the BIOS and even on the My computer icon when Im on XP. However, when i try to access my Hitachi which shows up as (Drive E: ) it says file or directory is corrupted or unreadable. When i right click on this drive the file system shows up as RAW?!?. I cannot seem to boot with this drive either because the cursor just stands there and blinks. Please help, the 60GB has some valuable information which I cannot afford to loose. This is my first post, and yeah im a total noob on anand tech.
What should i do to get all my data back, and to get my HDD working?

i ran chkdsk e: and this is the error message i got

Type of file system is NTFS
Warning! F: parameter not specified
Running chkdsk in read only mode
Corrupt master file label
chkdsk aborted

Is the drive formatted? I found this on Microsoft's help area.
A RAW volume is a volume that was never formatted and does not contain a file system such as FAT, FAT32, or NTFS. A RAW volume is typically written to by a program that does not require a file system.
