I'm looking at Hitachi hard drives and they seem to be about 15% cheaper than a comparable hard drive from a different brand. Is there a reason for this price discrepency? are the drives going to kick the bucket after a year, compared to say 5 years for a seagate?
Oh yeah, forgot to add, the model I was looking at was the Hitachi Deskstar 180GXP, a 90gB.
