Man that's cheap. I was looking at this drive the other day pre-rebate. Damn you for posting this. :p

Ok... Why does that matter? Seems like a good thing to me as I have had rebate checks go stale from sitting around because I visit my Credit Union once in a blue moon.
I thought I heard someone say you need to get a merchant to use the exact amount you have left, which not all might do. I would rather have a check myself, because for larger purchases, you need to use two pay sources. And with smaller purchases, you might end up with a small amount leftover on the card that you never use.

Just use the full amount to purchase a gift card from a store you frequent a lot. Problem solved.

Seriously... and usually $10 with no MIR.

I have a few more slots to fill in the server but I have enough capacity at this point with just over 60TB and think going to 80TB is still a few months off.

The killer thing is that those drives work really well on raid controllers.

I could not find this deal and your link does not work because of the redirect thing. Can you put it in a
Code:
code
box please?

Link works for me still

Go to newegg and search for N82E16822145276.

Looks like price moved up $20 over-night though.

Nice, what type of setup do you have that supports 40+ drives?

damn thats a bad ass raid card. i see this one on ebay for 200$ even,, very tempting gamble but i just wasted a ton of money lately so ill prob hold off on buying it.. maybe ill bid at the end of the 5 day auction for less than 200.. i dunno adaptec's policy for rma. Very cool rackmount and cool raid card wouldnt mind that kinda hardware. hitachi 2tb looks alot better than the wd green 2tb drives too

(edit) maybe all 2tb drives are not very reliable? i just checked newegg reviews tons of bad ones after few weeks of use.

Hardly any newegg links on these forums work for me because of the redirects that these forums use.

Use it to pay a bill online. Cell phones, health insurance, cable - odds are you have SOMETHING that accepts online payments and lets you enter an exact amount to charge to a card.

Use the code on the page to take $20 off.
Then the rebate takes another $20 off giving you the $99 price.
