As I sit here typing this on my just delivered Hitachi I am truly amazed at your description of it.
I feel I must have a different monitor, as there is No ghosting, absolutely No streaking and the reds are stunning.
I have not bothered to connect up to the DVI connections as yet simply because I cannot see how you can improve on this.
The 3 CRT monitors I have are all of high quality and they cannot compare, except in being capable of a very dense black with the brightness turned down. Whereas the Hitachi is set at between 0 and 33 (Brightness range) which for me gives better blacks than my crt's as they need more brightness for general use and even more in games.
Colour is punchier especially reds and the overall sharpness is stunning on the medium setting.
They only negatives I can find are the brightness of the led ON light (resolvable).
Your head position is critical to the performance you must adjust your screen so that is is parallel to your face/eyes.
And the double button press for B and C control.
Note to gamers this monitor is better than any note any CRT I have seen and in my opinion perfect for us, no flicker of any kind so there are no worries over that.
Is it possable that your test setup had a faulty card or driver problem. Or that the monitor you recieved for review was faulty.
Was there somting else in the test area causing these problems?
