anyone know the specs on this monitor? especially interested in the max res it could run...
the guy that gave it to me said it could do 1920x1440, but that hasn't worked for me....

That was my late tube! Loved it, great image quality. IIFC it did 1600x1200@75Hz and 1280x1024@85Hz. The RAMDAC isn't terribly strong (it's a late 90s design) so 1600x1200 is likely its upper limit.
 
have the very model, and I can't get anything over 1600x1200 @ 75Hz and I actually run it in 1280x1024 @ 85Hz because I'm all for the higher refresh rate. 75Hz, while acceptable, was a little low for a resolution as high as 1600x1200, IMHO that is.
